Material

The Agnes pillow features a patchwork and hand painted design inspired by the brilliant textile artist Agnes Martin. We created our linen pillow collection as a zero waste mission to use up leftover plant dyed linen pieces we had on hand in the studio. Our pillows are hand made using naturally dyed and hand painted scrap fabric in our Detroit studio. Available with or without insert.

100% Linen

The process

Each pillow is cut, dyed and sewn in our studio. We use the plant dyes acacia wood, wattle, pomegranate rind and iron, and chestnut to achieve these rust brown, mauve, charcoal grey, and sandy beige colors. Linen pieces are dyed by hand in small batches and hand painted with iron. Each piece has natural variations and light mottling effects that add texture and an organic feel.

Shipping

We ship low waste and plastic free using recycled paper padded mailers.

Care instructions

All pillows are steamed and gently folded before sending to you. Linen is naturally wrinkly, so no need to press as that is part of the beauty of the fabric. Spot clean only.

Sustainably Crafted

We utilize sustainability conscious practices to limit water usage and fabric waste in our production. We work exclusively with plant dyes and natural fibers, both of which are compostable. Rosemarine Textiles is committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing of all fabrics, dye materials and packaging. All packaging can be reused or recycled.
